Effective Date: January 28, 2026 | Last Updated: February 26, 2026
Welcome to Inchambers. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of inchambers.ai's web application, Microsoft Word add-in, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please also review our Privacy Policy and Privacy Architecture. Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service. By using Inchambers, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
1. About inchambers.ai
Inchambers is a sole proprietorship of Pawan Khatri. Inchambers is an AI-powered assistant for legal professionals available as a web application and Microsoft Word add-in, providing drafting assistance, corrections, risk assessment, and other AI-powered features across 60+ jurisdictions.
1A. Beta Service
The Service is currently in beta ("Beta Period"). During the Beta Period: (a) features may be added, modified, or removed without notice; (b) the Service may experience downtime, errors, or data loss; (c) pricing and plan structures are subject to change; (d) no service-level agreements (SLAs) apply. You use the beta Service entirely at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Pawan Khatri, in his capacity as sole proprietor, shall not be personally liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from or related to your use of the beta Service, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities.
2. Eligibility and Account Registration
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding contracts to use the Service. To use certain features, you must create an account by authenticating through Google OAuth or Microsoft Azure OAuth. You agree to: provide accurate, current, and complete information; maintain and promptly update your account information; maintain the security of your account credentials; accept all responsibility for activity that occurs under your account; and notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breach. Inchambers is designed for use by legal professionals. While we do not restrict access to licensed attorneys only, you acknowledge that the Service provides AI-generated content that should be reviewed by qualified legal professionals before use.
3. Subscription Plans and Payment
We offer multiple subscription plans: Free Trial (7-day, budget AI models, no credit card required); Starter BYOK (unlimited requests with your own API keys); Professional BYOK (per seat, 1-10 members, Azure AI Foundry/Vertex AI support); Enterprise BYOK (custom pricing, unlimited members, centralized key management). Pricing details are available on request.
Subscription fees are charged on a recurring annual basis through Stripe. The 7-day free trial does not require a credit card. Paid plan trials require a valid credit card. After trials expire, subscriptions automatically convert to paid plans. You may cancel at any time before the trial ends. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers. We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice.
4. Use of the Service
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your internal business purposes. You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service; interfere with the Service or servers; reverse engineer any aspect of the Service; transmit viruses or harmful code; impersonate any person or entity; share your account credentials; scrape or crawl the Service; generate defamatory or harassing content; or resell the Service without our written permission.
API keys are optional. All plans include access to platform-managed AI models via our zero-knowledge edge proxy. If you provide your own API keys, you are solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining valid keys, compliance with third-party terms, all associated costs, and security of keys stored on your device. Your use is subject to the usage limits of your subscription plan.
5. Intellectual Property Rights
Inchambers and the Service, including all software, text, graphics, logos, and trademarks, are owned by Pawan Khatri (sole proprietor). All rights not expressly granted are reserved. You retain all rights to the content of your Word documents. Content generated by AI features is provided on an "as-is" basis. You acknowledge that AI-generated content should be reviewed by qualified professionals, similar content may be generated for other users, and we make no warranties regarding its accuracy. If you provide feedback, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, modify, and incorporate such feedback.
6. Privacy and Data Protection
Our collection and use of your information is governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated into these Terms by reference. We do not access, store, or transmit the content of your Word documents except when you explicitly use AI features, when content is temporarily transmitted to AI providers, or as required by law. We implement reasonable security measures but no system is completely secure.
7. Third-Party Services
Inchambers is available as a web application and Microsoft Word add-in. Your use of Microsoft Office is subject to Microsoft's terms. We use Google OAuth and Microsoft Azure OAuth for authentication, subject to their respective terms. When using platform-managed models, your data is relayed on-the-fly through our zero-knowledge edge proxy and never stored. For BYOK users, your use of AI services is subject to those providers' terms. Payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe's terms.
Inchambers provides integrations with third-party services through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), including legal research services (CourtListener, CanLII), messaging platforms (WhatsApp, iMessage, Telegram, Slack), document management (iManage, NetDocuments, Google Drive, OneDrive, Box), practice management (Clio, MyCase), and other productivity tools. Some MCP integrations may utilize unofficial APIs, reverse-engineered protocols, or methods not officially sanctioned by the third-party service provider. By enabling these integrations, you acknowledge that: your use may violate third-party terms of service; your account may be suspended or banned; the third-party provider may take legal action; integrations may stop working without notice; and data may not have the same security guarantees as official APIs. You assume all risk associated with the use of third-party MCP integrations.
By using any MCP integration, you expressly waive any and all claims against Inchambers, Pawan Khatri, and their affiliates arising from: account suspension or termination on third-party platforms; loss of data or content; violations of third-party terms of service; legal actions by third-party providers; any damages from unofficial integrations; and service interruptions. You are solely responsible for reading third-party terms before enabling integrations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, obtaining necessary consents, maintaining backups, and monitoring your accounts.
System requirements: Microsoft Word 2016 or later, Microsoft 365, or Word Online for the add-in; Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Safari, or Firefox for the web application; JavaScript must be enabled; internet connection required; 1024x768 minimum screen resolution (1280x800 recommended).
8. Disclaimers and Warranties
Inchambers provides AI-powered tools for legal professionals but does not provide legal advice. The Service is not a substitute for professional legal judgment. You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying any content generated by the Service. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate. While Inchambers supports legal content across 60+ jurisdictions, we do not warrant compliance with the laws or professional standards of any specific jurisdiction.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall Pawan Khatri, or his affiliates, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or related to: your use or inability to use the Service; unauthorized access to or alteration of your data; any conduct or content of third parties; any AI-generated content or recommendations; or any professional errors or omissions resulting from use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim or $100, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Inchambers, Pawan Khatri, and their affiliates, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising out of or related to: your use or misuse of the Service; violation of these Terms; violation of any third-party rights; your provision or use of API keys; and any professional services you provide using content from the Service.
11. Term and Termination
These Terms remain in effect while you use the Service or have an account. You may terminate your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these Terms, fraudulent or illegal activity, non-payment, extended inactivity, or to protect our business interests. Upon termination, your right to use the Service immediately ceases, we may delete your account and data per our Privacy Policy, and you remain liable for outstanding payments.
12. Modifications to the Service and Terms
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without liability. We may revise these Terms from time to time. Changes are effective immediately upon posting. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice.
13. Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by applicable laws without regard to conflict of law provisions. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts. Before filing a formal claim, you agree to contact us at [email protected] and attempt informal resolution for at least 30 days. You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis and waive any right to participate in class actions or class arbitrations.
14. General Provisions
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and inchambers.ai regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision will not constitute a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We shall not be liable for failures due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control. You agree to comply with all applicable export and import control laws. Inchambers complies with Microsoft Office Add-in Store requirements.
